NEW FASHION TREND IS USING CLOTH BAGS
Plastic bags, covering a large part of our lives, due to the damage they cause to the environment, are on the way to give place to eco friendly, reusable cloth bags. From past to present, due to their misuse, the negative effects of nylon bags on the economic life, environment and human health began to be noticed. There is no doubt that plastic bags, which are banned in many countries of the world and will be banned in our country as of 2018 within the scope of waste regulations, shall be substituted completely with the cloth bags in near future. If we give examples of social responsibility projects in this regard, Edirne Municipality has launched the project, namely "Carry the World in a Cloth Bag" in order to minimize the use of nylon bags. Within the scope of the campaign, citizens who want to get rid of the nylon bags accumulated in their homes and who are against to dispose them away, are invited to Edirne Çarşamba Pazarı in December 2010. People who brought 15 used plastic bags between 11.00-13.00 hours were rewarded with a cloth bag in return. Cloth bags aim to make us individuals who feel themselves responsible for nature and the environment. Reusable and environmentalist, custom designed and colored cloth bags with different patterns, produced by printing process, shall take a large place in the future, in our lives, so we recommend you to begin to make preparations on this issue.
